Record number of stallions to start at Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse

201 (!) stallions will start in the Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse on Saturday 14/1/2023. An absolute record in the format's existence. It typifies the 'appetite' and ‘looking forward’ to the start of the Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse. A 'feeling' that, by the way, is shared by the breeders and the audience that will follow the stallions' performances en masse either live in Lier or via the livestream of Clipmyhorse, with expert commentary by Bert Prouvé.

The first heat of the Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse, will take place as part of the second phase of BWP Stallion Selection at the Azelhof in Lier. After the proclamation of the stallions that will advance to the third phase of the BWP Stallion Selection, 58 four-year-old stallions will start their first round of the stallion competition.  Followed by 58 five-year-old stallions. 61 (!) six-year-old stallions and another 24 seven-year-old approved jumping stallions in one of the Belgian studbooks. At the end of the Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse, the 'stallion party' is not over yet because with the BWP Topstallion Auction there is still a fine dessert on the menu.

13.00 hrs. four-year-old stallions - clear round - 58 participating stallions

14.55h. five-year-old stallions - clear round - 58 participating stallions

17.15h. six-year-old stallions - Barema A - 2 phases - 61 participating stallions

7.15pm. seven-year-old stallions - Barema A - 2 phases - 24 participating stallions

Genetic background of each stallion mapped

Competition

The first heat in Lier will be followed by a second appointment at the Bomaco site in Zellik on 4 February 2023. On 25 February, the four-, five-, six- and seven-year-old stallions will jump at Sentower-Park in Opglabbeek. The Final of the Lannoo Belgian Stallion Competition powered by Euro Horse will take place on 11 March 2023 as part of the third phase of the BWP Stallion Selection at the Azelhof in Lier.
